Raymond "Ray" Jordan

Raymond Thomas “Ray” Jordan, 81, of Muncie, passed away on September 4, 2025, at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Ray was born in Economy, IN on September 26, 1943, to Raymond Ward and Jennie Juanita (Atkinson) Jordan. Although not traditionally married, Ray spent much of his life with his best friend who he’d known since 1968, Barbara Stacey.

Ray graduated in 1961 from Hagerstown High School where he was a member of the band. Ray loved anything to do with computers and technology, so he began working in system technology at Ball State University on April 24, 1964, until his retirement in 1999. Although he was a quiet man, Ray was a wealth of knowledge on many subjects which he would proudly make known if questioned. Ray loved attending auctions, feeding the birds each morning, and reading magazines - never a book. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him most.

Ray is survived by his significant other of 30 years, Barb; son, Christopher (Maria) Jordan, of Cary, IL; grandsons, Colton and Lukas Jordan; brother-in-law, Victor Kendall; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; brother, David Jordan; and sisters, Louise Kendall and Margaret Jordan.
