Robert Park “Bob” Jackson, 77, of Indianapolis, passed away on August 7, 2025, after a brief illness in Sanford, FL, while on vacation with his family. He was born on February 25, 1948, in Muncie, IN to Robert Earl Jackson and June Park Jackson. Bob was married to Kathy K. Aukerman, his surviving wife, for 53 years.
Bob graduated from Selma High School in 1966 and went on to obtain a degree in business from Ball State University. He played guitar and was a member of a local rock band in the 1960’s.
Bob retired in 2008 after 30 years working with Meridian Insurance (now State Auto). He and his wife Kathy enjoyed traveling during his retirement, visiting the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, the middle East, and Australia.
Bob is survived by his wife and one son, Robert Ryan Jackson, of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Aiden and Callen Jackson of Fishers, IN; and one brother, William K. (Roberta) Jackson of Silver Springs, MD.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard E. (Diana) Jackson.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie, IN 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family from 4 pm until 8 pm on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the funeral home.
