Robert "Bob" E. Winkle

He was born Wednesday, January 6, 1937, in Muncie, the son of Hansford and Dorothy Belle (Hammond) Winkle. Bob graduated from Cowan High School. He had worked at Western Southern Life Insurance, then as a draftsman at Indiana Bridge Company and then he started Winkle Construction Company. He was in the construction business for forty-four years and retired in 1999. Bob loved going on "island vacations" with his wife, Janice. His memberships include the Elks Club.

Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Janice (Townsend) Winkle; children, Tony Winkle, Brenda Temonia, Danny Sayre, Randy (wife Jean Ann) Sayre, and Teala (husband Todd) Shideler; brothers, Jerry (wife Adine) Winkle, and Richard (wife Julie Ann) Winkle; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Hansford and Dorothy Belle Winkle; a daughter, Karen J. Cuevas; and an infant brother, Phillip B. Winkle.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304, with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Cremation and interment at Elm Ridge Memorial Park will be at a later date.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
