Roy E. Hudson

He spent much of his life as a drywall contractor and owned Roy E. Hudson Drywall. He was known for his strong work ethic, honesty, and dedication to doing things right. Outside of work, Roy was an avid collector of all things Coca-Cola, loved listening to bluegrass music, and watching old western movies. These simple pleasures brought him joy throughout his life.

More than anything, he loved being with his family and friends. Whether it was a family gathering, a quiet evening at home, or time spent sharing stories, he valued the people in his life deeply and always made others feel welcome. Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Roy is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Hudson Roberts (husband, Keith) of Muncie, Indiana; three grandchildren, Ethan (Melinda) Hudson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Avery Hudson Roberts of Zionsville, Indiana, and Amelia Hudson Roberts, college student at Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana; three sisters, Rosalee Hemphill of Burnside, Kentucky, Tina Thompson of Somerset, Kentucky, Darlene Strunk of Bronston, Kentucky; one brother, Charles (Cleda) Hudson of Bronston, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Patsy Hudson of Indianapolis, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews that loved their uncle.

He was preceded in passing by his wife, Rebecca (Bartlett) Hudson; his parents, Herman and Bernice Hudson; sister, Fayrene Thurman of Somerset, Kentucky; brothers, Clarence (Hope) Hudson of Berne, Indiana, and Herman Lewis Hudson of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Public visitation will be 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 West Jackson Street, Muncie, Indiana, 47303, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304.
