Silinda F. Hollingsworth

Silinda F. (Hammond) Hollingsworth, 77, Muncie, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, at home. She was born Thursday, April 25, 1946, in Wheeling, Indiana, the daughter of Cornelius and Angie Myrtle (Carrol) Burris. Silinda received her Associate Degree in Mental Health Care from Ball State University. She worked as a QMA and QMRP in Mental Health Care for forty years. Survivors include her children, Rick (wife, Melanie) Hammond, Tammy (husband, Joe) Dye, Rodney Hammond, and Treva (husband, Melfred) Conley; two brothers, Ronnie (wife, Paula) Burris, and Donnie (wife, Alice) Burris, nineteen grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius Burris and Angie Myrtle Joplin; husband, Richard J. Hollingsworth; daughter, Tonya Rector; four brothers; five sisters; and one grandson, Rodney “Boomer” Hammond Jr. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Pastor Danny Lewis officiating. Private entombment will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park Mausoleum. Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
