Sylvia C. Norrod

Sylvia Christine (Wilson) Norrod age 94 of Tom Griffin Lane. in Byrdstown, Tennessee passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 30, 1924 in Wilder, Tennessee to Cordell Wilson and Millie (Smith) Wilson. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Daleville, Indiana and a homemaker.

Sylvia is survived by two daughters; Loretta Jane Purkey (Husband, Jim) - Byrdstown, Tennessee, Patricia Lee Grile (Husband, Kurt) - Springport, Indiana; three grandchildren, Jeff, Steve and Michelle; two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey and Danielle; nieces; nephews; other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cordell and Millie Wilson; husband, Barney Norrod; four brothers, Bufford, Phillips, James and Herbert Wilson; one sister, Beulah Phillips.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 4:00 PM from the Brown Funeral Chapel in Byrdstown, Tennessee with Bro. John Stone officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 1:00 PM until service time at 4:00 PM at the Brown Funeral Chapel and Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
