Vernon D. Williams

He was born Tuesday, October 31, 1933, in Muncie, the son of Ward and Osee (Philabaum) Williams. Vernon enjoyed working with stained glass and helped with the windows at Faith Assembly Church. He also liked woodworking and carving. Vernon worked as a Mill Wright at Borg Warner and worked there for over forty-five years. He was a member of Glad Tidings Church for several years. Mr. Vernon was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include sons, Thomas Williams and Dennis (wife Kim) Williams; daughter, Dana Williams; ten grandchildren, Nathan (wife Layla), Anna, Bethany, Hannah, Andrew, Grace, Zachary (wife Megan), Emily (husband Robert), Jacob, and Seth; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Ward Williams; mom, Osee Dial; brother, Charol Williams; and sister, Vonda Reese.

Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304 with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park Mausoleum.
