Mr. Mitchell was born in Gibson County, TN, on September 10, 1933, the son of the late Namon Mitchell and Morie B. Smith Mitchell. He was a master barber and loved his family and gardening. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Jean Mitchell.
Survivors include a son, Tim (Pam) Mitchell; daughter, Deedee (Tommy) Smith; two grandchildren, Michelle (Derrick) Kiefer and Jacob (Shannon) Council; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden Kiefer, Brody Council, and Brantley Council.
Services to celebrate Mr. Mitchell will be Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at One o’clock at Roselawn Funeral Home. Placement will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
