Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 59 and 1/2 years, Eric W. Weitemeyer, and their seven children: Jenny Gentry (David), Wendy Gunn (Robert), Risa Elliott (Todd), Joy Butrum, Michal Tuttle (Ray), Josh Weitemeyer (Lilin), and Ben Weitemeyer (Becca). Her legacy continues through her 36 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren (with 3 making their arrival soon).
Throughout her life, Peggy dedicated her time and energy to nurturing her family, guiding youth as a leader, directing children’s choirs, coaching softball, and spreading happiness as a clown and balloon artist. Her passion for music, singing, and even songwriting had a major impact on her family and brought harmony to us all. She had a great love for God and prayer. Her warm spirit, listening ear, and compassionate heart made her a beloved counselor and an amazing friend, especially to the least of these.
Peggy's unwavering love, kindness, and generosity inspired countless others, and her memory will be cherished by all who were blessed to know her.
A Gathering of Family and Friends for Peggy will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a Celebration of Life to follow the visitation beginning at 1:00 PM at Roselawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 5350 NW Broad Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37129. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
