Barbara Jean (Bailey) Sanders, 62, of Nacogdoches passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Nacogdoches Medical Center. She was born November 13, 1955, in Nacogdoches to parents A.J. Bailey and Mable Lucille (Boatman) Bailey.
Barbara was a long-time employee of Walmart, and she loved her career and coworkers. Some of her hobbies were crocheting, baking, cooking, and watching movies. She also enjoyed her crossword puzzles.
Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Larry Bailey.
She is survived by her daughter, Sondra Bailey of Nacogdoches; son, Kevin Sanders of Nacogdoches; nephew, Mike Bailey and wife Monica of Nacogdoches; sister, Brenda Durham Thurman and husband Pat of Lufkin; brothers, Alton Ray Bailey of Nacogdoches, Alvin Lee Bailey and wife Margie of Nacogdoches, Troy Lynn Bailey and wife Cheryl of Huntington; 1 grandson; granddaughters, Sabrina Bailey of Nacogdoches and Stacie Simmons of Carthage; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel officiated by Bro. Mark Bridges. Interment will follow at Union Springs Cemetery in Nacogdoches County.
Pallbearers will be Michael Bailey, Jr., Justin Bailey, Tim Bailey, Bobby Deason, Billy Deason, and William Linder.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Barbara's extended family at Walmart for all of the love, kindness, and support they've shown her over her many years there. They would also like to thank the ER and ICU departments of Nacogdoches Medical Center for their excellent treatment of Barbara in her final days.
