

He was born September 24, 1936 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Earl Nathaniel Dickerson and Wynne Taylor Dickerson and spent his youth in west Louisiana and east Texas.
He graduated from Cushing High School and the University of Houston. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1957. He married Margie Ruth Russell in 1966 and they settled in Nacogdoches and raised their family. He had a successful business career that included management and operations positions at Holly Farms and Foretravel Motorhomes. He was a proud parent and supporter of Dixie Youth Baseball, acting at one time as commissioner of the organization. He had a great love for his dogs, his family and his friends. He leaves a legacy of thoughtful support, unwavering loyalty and quiet kindness to all who were a part of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl Nathaniel Dickerson and Wynne Taylor Dickerson, and his wife Margie Russell Dickerson.
He is survived by his son Jeff Dickerson, his daughter-in-law Navaz Dickerson, his granddaughters Katie Dickerson and Amy Dickerson of Houston; his daughter Jennifer Dickerson Bejarano, his son-in-law Michael Bejarano of Albuquerque; his daughter Lisa DeCell, son-in-law John DeCell, grandson Thomas DeCell, and granddaughter Danielle DeCell of Waller; and numerous extended family and dear friends. He is survived as well by his beloved dachshund Kallie, who was steadfast and by his side to the end, and his "granddogs" Dixie, Wynne, Menna and Bodhi.
Visitation will held Friday, October 2, 2015 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral home in Nacogdoches from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf on Saturday, October 3, 2015.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tom Bush, John Stanaland, Lavaughn Parrish, David Russell, Jarrod Greening and Pam Smitherman. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed McClurg, Gary Russell, Kent White and Tony Weir.
