Carol Brightwell

Carol was born April 21, 1943 in Nacogdoches to parents MC Roebuck and Rena (Price) Roebuck.

She is survived by her husband O'Neal Brightwell.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors officiated by Bro. Robert Easterling. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will include Russell Wright, Brain Wright, Shayne Brightwell, Kelly Brightwell, Andrew Bobo, and Mike Price.

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, June 6 for 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Cason Monk-Metcalf.

Mrs. Brightwell is preceded in death by her parents; brother Charles Roebuck; step-daughters Dana Payne and Rebbeca Brightwell.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, O’neal Brightwell; daughters, Kelley Ann Wright, Molly Carol Bobo and husband Lance; step-son, Kelly O’neal Brightwell and wife Crystal, Shane Brightwell; grandchildren, Russell Wright and wife Maegan, Stacey Koffskey and husband Chris, Hannah Wright, Brian Wright, Courtney Bobo, Andrew Bobo, Landrey Bobo, Emily Bobo; step-grandchildren, Brandon Brightwell, Bailey Brightwell, Blake Brightwell, Wes Payne and wife Edith, Chad Payne and wife DeeAnn, Lacy Allbritton, Johnathan Allbritton, Dalton Allbritton; great granddaughter, Madison Claire Wright; sisters, Patricia Denney, Ann Cage and husband Al, Kim Graham and husband Kent and many nieces and nephews.

Carol was a graduate of Nacogdoches High School, Class of 1961 and Stephen F. Austin State University, where she also received her Master’s Degree. Carol had a teaching career for over 29 years teaching in Lufkin, Rusk, Christ Episcopal School and ending her career at Nacogdoches ISD.

Carol was a teacher at heart. Everything see saw in life she could turn into a learning experience. She loved her skill and loved her life. She had a great sense of humor, loved to shop and in her free time you could find her growing things. She loved her family and loved having everyone over for Christmas. She was known as a nurturer to her family and grandkids. It was late in life when she met O’neal Brightwell. They married in 2010 and have enjoyed the best years of their life together. She was to O’neal sweet, easy to like, down to earth and a wonderful companion. Carol will be missed by her family and friends and has left a big hole in their hearts that will be hard to fill.
