Cheryl Rae Hill

She was born June 6, 1947, in her grandparents’ home near Maydelle, Cherokee County, Texas, to Ben Wilson Carlisle and Jessie Pauline Glidden Carlisle. They moved to Nacogdoches County, Texas in 1962. She graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1967 and Stephen F. Austin State University (SFASU) in 1973. She retired from SFASU, as a Library Assistant, in 2006. She worked in First Baptist Nursery for 21 years and as Nursery Director at First United Methodist Church for 2 years. She was active in Girl Scouts with her daughters and Cub Scouts with her husband and sons.

She is survived by her mother; husband, Hubbard Mike Hill; daughters; Laura (Raymond C.)Martin and Jessica (Patrick)Howell; sons Nat Hill (Krista) and Hardy Hill; grandsons Jarrett Gates, Talan Howell, and Alex Wild; granddaughters Keely Luse, Montana and Autumn Martin, Adrienne Hill, Eleanor Hill; sisters Debra Johnson and Julie Lebeau.

She loved her family, including her cats.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, with Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Interment will follow with 2:00 p.m. graveside rites at Mount Comfort Cemetery, Cherokee County, Texas, located off Hwy. 84 in Maydelle.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Cheryl, to any Animal Protection Organization.
