Chris Lee Lockard

Services for Chris Lee Lockard, 68, of Mt. Enterprise will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at Old Prospect Baptist Church, Mt. Enterprise, with Bro. Robert Vaughn and Bro. Pat Windham officiating.

Interment will follow at Old Prospect Cemetery, Mt. Enterprise.

Mr. Lockard passed Oct. 3, 2015, in Longview. He was born Jan. 29, 1947, in Iowa City, Iowa.

Chris was a loving husband for 34 years and lived in Mt. Enterprise for the past 28 years. He was a member of Old Prospect Baptist Church where he led the song service. He enjoyed fishing trips with his best friend, Gary, and spending time in his workshop. He always had a joke to tell to brighten up the day or a song to sing.

Survivors include his wife, Dale Strong Lockard; daughter, Brenda Fowler and husband Chris of Frankston; son, Randy Gallant of Tyler; Granddaughter, Amanda Herod and husband Ronn of Montalba; Great-grandchildren, Alyssa Herod, Jace Herod, Titus Herod of Montalba; sister, Nicky Smith of Mooreland, GA; brother, Paul Lockard and wife Connie Rodessa, LA; and numerous other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Jeanette Lockard; sisters, Barbara Roberts and Dorothy Wallace.

Pallbearers are Gary Auxier, Alan Christian, Christopher Strong, Steve Strong, Howard “Red” Russell and Tom Long.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at the funeral home.
