Clyde Tucker, age 76, died in the early morning hours of December 23, 2025. Born on April 9, 1949 in Lansing, Michigan, Clyde was the eldest of four sons born to Evans Eldridge Tucker and Mary Geneva Procter. He grew up in Oklahoma City and Dallas, Texas, with his brothers Tom, Tim, and Ted and graduated from Lake Highlands High School. Clyde joined the United States Navy serving two tours of duty as an Engineman on riverine supply ships. After his service, Clyde worked various food management positions and settled in Nacogdoches where he married Betsy S. Doerr in 1974. Clyde found continued service when he began his career with the U.S. Postal Service as a rural carrier, ultimately retiring after over 30 years on the routes to follow his passions and keep up with family and friends.
Clyde was an avid reader and a man most at home in the forests and hills of the land. Clyde Tucker fiercely loved his children, attending any and all of their pursuits. You could find him in the stands at the baseball park, the softball fields, and the soccer pitch for city and school sports cheering and dance events. Throughout his life he held firm beliefs about devotion, justice, and respect and to know him was to understand that faith, loyalty, and moral fortitude were his core ideologies.
Tucker is survived by his children Caleb S. Tucker married to Michelle with a son Donevan (Bremerton, Washington), Claire G. Tucker partnered with Joel Miller (Austin, Texas), and Jacob F. Tucker (Nacogdoches, Texas), his brother Ted Procter Tucker (wife Debbie), nieces and nephews: Tommy Lewis (Neshia Rudd), Evans Tucker (Andrea), Maria Luisa Tucker (Ilya Magazanin), Daniel Tucker (Evelyn), Sarah Ball (Taylor), and cousin Maureen Dudley (Bill).
