

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard E. DuBose and Auta Bell Wright DuBose; wife Joanne Walker DuBose; son Eddie Cade DuBose; grandson Cade Randall DuBose; brother Doyle DuBose; and sister Rhosine Fleming and her husband Hoyt T. Fleming.
He is survived by son, Clyde R. DuBose and his wife Nancy DuBose of Broaddus, Texas; daughter, Lenora DuBose of Austin, Texas; sister Dixie Crocker, and her husband Ray Crocker; sister LaNell Larson, and her husband Ernest Larson. He is also survived by grandchildren Crystal DuBose, Curtis Barnes, and Casey Barnes; and great-grandchildren Cade Barnes, Dylan Barnes, and Ellora Barnes.
In 1949, Elton married Joanne Walker DuBose. They were married for 64 years. Elton worked 33 years for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a lifetime member of N.R.A.
After retirement from SBC, he worked for DynArabia Company, Ltd., in Saudi Arabia, from 1983-1984. He then completed his log cabin on the land which was his birthplace, at Sam Rayburn Lake.
Elton accepted year-long contracting jobs in the communications and engineering fields from 1984 through 1988, working in Virginia, Washington and California. After retirement, he and Joanne moved to Calvert, Texas, to be closer to their children.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street, Nacogdoches, with Bro. P.A. "Boots" DuBose officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 5127 North Street in Nacogdoches.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Greg Fleming, Ricky Means, Curtis Barnes, Casey Barnes, Dwayne Yeager, and Jay Rizzo.
