Ernestine Stevens

Ernestine Stevens, 87 of Garland Texas was taken into the loving arms of Christ on Friday, January 24, 2014. Mrs. Stevens was born September 26, 1926 in Hazen, Arkansas to Andrew J. and Sophia Petrus. She was a giving, caring, loving mother and wife. Her passion for plants and flowers gave her many long enjoyable hours in her garden. The church was a staple in her life guiding the work she did in helping children through organizations like Love Inc. and The Salvation Army.

She is survived by sisters, Louise Van De Mark of Oklahoma City, OK, Grace Rate of West Bend, WI, Judy Woodard of Garland, TX and Rose Parker of Garland, TX, brothers, Daniel Petrus of Pine Bluff, AR, and Andrew Wayne Petrus of Carlisle, AR, children, Joan George of Denver, CO, Beverly Rahlf of Rowlett, TX and Joseph Rahlf Jr. of West Bend, WI.

We wish to express our sincere gratitude to our family, church family, and friends for the care and love given to our mother during her illness, as well as, the love shown to us following her death. We also thank you for, and appreciate, all the flowers, visits, telephone calls and especially the prayers for us during this very difficult time. We ask that you continue to pray for our family in the weeks ahead.
