Eva Starr (Miles) Hand

Eva Starr (Miles) Hand, of Nacogdoches, passed away on November 11, 2023, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 63. She was born August 19, 1960 in Wurzburg, Germany to parents James Lee Miles and Winona Frances Metzger Miles.

Eva graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1978. She married John Hand at New Hope Church of Nacogdoches, TX on April 16, 1979. Eva worked in the dental industry for many years and was a teacher for the Mother’s Day Out program. She was a member at New Hope Church in Nacogdoches.

Eva is preceded in death by her parents James and Winona Miles.

She is survived by Husband, John Hand, of Nacogdoches; Son and Daughter-In-Law, Wes and Jennifer Hand, of Nacogdoches; Daughter and future Son-In-Law, Rachael Hand and Miles Fletcher, of The Woodlands; Grandchildren, Gentry Hand and Grayson Hand and Maddox Fletcher; Brothers and Sisters-In-Law, Mike and Kay Miles, of Garrison and Kurt and Lynn Miles, of Garrison; Sister and Brother-In-Law, Lisa and David Pavlock, of Houston and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, from 1:00 PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home with a service to begin at 2:00, Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Rev. Bob Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Miles, Ethan Miles, Zach Pavlock, David Pavlock, Jack Hand and Jerry Hand.
