Frances Elizabeth Longenecker

Funeral services for Frances Elizabeth Leaman Longenecker, age 96, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Bible Church, on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, in Nacogdoches with Pastor Jeremiah Betron officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday, December 31, at 11:00 a.m. in the Creel Memorial Gardens, Reeves, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. before service time on Tuesday, December 30, at Grace Bible Church.

Frances was born February 18, 1918, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Frank and Anna Kling Leaman and passed away Saturday, December 27, 2014, in Nacogdoches, Texas. She and G. Mervin Longenecker were married, April 9, 1939, and had celebrated 62 years together at the time of his passing in 2002. Frances was a homemaker, gardener and gifted piano player. She and her husband, Mervin, worked together in ministry for many years in music and counseling. For a number of years, she served as Dean of Women at Dallas Bible College. She was a member of Grace Bible Church, Nacogdoches. Frances will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mervin, Frances is preceded in death, by grandsons, Brad Busby and Gary Cassady.

She is survived by daughters, Lois Cassady and husband Carltonof Mesquite, Texas, Theda Busby and husband Ralph of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Joyce Marsh and husband Gary of Isanti, Minnesota; sons, Richard Longenecker and wife Karen of Mesquite, Texas, and Kenneth Longenecker and wife Jan of Canton, Texas; 16 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
