He received his education in Detroit, Michigan before moving to Houston, TX and later moved to Nacogdoches, TX. Garry proudly served his country in the United States Army and was discharged with honors.
He is preceded in death by is parents; wife, Billy Jean Savage; brother, Orlando Jackson; sister, Adrea Jackson.
Survivors include: brother, Leroy Jackson; daughters, Yolanda Savage, Connie Wesley, Debra Keely; six grandchildren, Luretria, Robert, Cortney, Dakovan, David, and Dawson; seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Mason, Jackson, Eli, Ivy, Aron and Rehana.
An inurnment service will be held at a later date at Houston National Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
