Funeral service for Jack Hand Sr., 88, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be Sunday, November 8, 2009 @ 3:00 at Nacogdoches Congregational Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.Jack passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 in Nacogdoches. He was born November 1, 1921 in Nacogdoches to Eldon and Jasmine Hand. He attended Nacogdoches High School and was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy for three and a half years. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 30 years. After retirement, Jack became a local rancher. He was a member of The Congregational Methodist Church and was also a member of The Optimist Club.Mr. Hand is preceded in death by his parents.Jack is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Laura Belle Collier Hand, sons, Jack Hand Jr. and wife Paula, Jerry Allen Hand and wife Patti, both of Nacogdoches, Texas and John Collier Hand and wife Eva of Hudson, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren, John Hull and Emily Morris of Austin, Texas, Tammy Hand of Kilgore, Texas, Jenny Hand of Nacogdoches, Texas, Wes Hand of Hudson, Texas and Rachael Hand of Conroe, Texas.
