Woody, my love,
I thought about you, today,but that was nothing new.I thought about you yesterday, and the day before, too. It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn't go alone. A part of me went with you. It's been almost a year, since God called you home and I still miss you so much. I think of all the wonderful times we shared in our sixty four years---the two good sons we raised and what they have become. Memory is a gift that death cannot take away.

"Aunt" Lou,  I was so sorry to hear about your husband passing away.  I am so sorry I never got to meet either one of you until the day of the funeral, but I feel as though I have known you all my life.  Your neice, Sarah Stewart, and I are best friends and I have kept up with you all since I found out that you were related.  May God surround with his comfort.  May your sweet memories and our loving Heavenly Father comfort you as only He can.  We have the blessed hope that we will see our loved ones again.  That will be a great day.  I am looking forward to that day.

WILL ALWAYS MISS ALL OF WOODY'S JOKES AND HUMOR.HE WAS SUCH A KIND AND FRIENDLY  GENTLEMAN. HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN BY ANY OF HIS FRIENDS.

I met Woody and Lou eight years ago at the Senior Center, there was an instant connection.  They made me feel like I had known them all of my life. I have never known two kinder people.  Woody had such a wonderful sense of humor. He kept us all laughing with his good natured picking on Lou. He will be missed.

My Daddy left this world on April 10, 2010. But, his memory will always be with us. I miss him very much and think of him frequently. At times, I feel sad but, at those times, I direct my mind to all the good times we shared together. That's what he would have wanted me to do. He wouldn't want any of his family or friends being sad.
He's with Mama & Papa and all his brothers and sisters again. I can just imagine all the talking and laughing going on. Maybe a 42 game every now and then.
During my growing up years he was my hero and role model. At some point during my adult years he became my friend also. I believe he was always my friend but, he had to wait until I was mature enough to appreciate the change in our relationship. What follows, in part, are the words I wrote on Daddy's last birthday card. He passed away two days before his 91st birthday and never got a chance to read what I'd written:
"A man's children and his garden both reflect the amount of weeding required during the growing season. Daddy, you did just the right amount weeding during my growing season. I've always been proud to call you my Daddy and will always."

Woody :   you know I really came to meet and know him after he got sick and went to the hospital.
What a great couple yall were and I enjoyed every visit.  I think of how great it's going to be  to have eternity to come to know him better and enjoy  whatever it is going to be like in that  'prepared place'  Jesus  promised when HE said , " I go to prepare a place for YOU".

Woody and I were just neighbors, and thank God we became friends.  I was an Air Force veteran, so Woody and I shared stories.  I mostly listened about the tough combat experiences he and other men had during WWII.  Too many don't realize what they did to keep us free.  Woody taught me more than any movie or history book will ever teach me.   I truly miss my friend Woody.

Woody Bush was quite a guy!  I will never forget the first time I met Woody--he was selling hot tamales--not so much for the money--but because he enjoyed the customers.  He was very sociable and liked to tease people.  I would go by to buy tamales just to visit him--and he would always kid me about something.  I can visualize him now --larger than life--with his great outgoing personality.  He will be truly missed.

I will always remember, Uncle Woody's, stories of growing up in Gary and the McCoy community. How he and his siblings ever made it, I don't know. One story that I he told about was the teacher in Gary setting on the window seal and fallen backward out the window. All you could see was two legs and feet in the air. He would always have a big laugh after telling this story along with many other stories or tales. He knew how to make you laugh and have a great time. Thanks for the memories. Woody always brought a smile to everyone at the Senior Center, especially on "Fish Friday"!!  Boy did he love Martha's fish!!!  He will be missed.

Woody has been a great friend,we will miss the garage sits in the evenings,the visits over the fence, and the big waves he gives when I come in from work.

Dear Lou, Mike and David, I am so sorry about the loss of Woody.  He was special to all of us.  I will keep each of you in my prayers as you go thru this difficult time. May the Lord bless and keep each of you.

I am married to Mr. Bush's youngest son David.  Woodrow has given me wisdom, strength and a lot of love over the years.  He will always be in my thoughts and in my heart.
