

Born September 28, 1924, in Ironosa Community, he had been a longtime resident of the Spring Hill community of Nacogdoches County and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Lynch was a retired electrician, having worked for several years for Nibco, as well as a chicken and cattle farmer. He was a member of Master Gardeners as well as Spring Hill Baptist Church, serving as a deacon.
His survivors include his wife of 68 years, Ozeda Pate Lynch of Spring Hill, married August 8, 1947; brother, William “Bill” Lynch of San Antonio; and a sister, Ila Mae Wheatley of Shelby County.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, LaRuth Lynch, on May 4, 1953; and a son, Sammy Lynch, on Dec. 18, 1970; parents, Lula Mae and James Roy Lynch Sr.; brothers, John Lynch and Guy B. Lynch; and sisters, Ira Lee Holt and Mildred Johnson.
Services are set for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Springhill Baptist Church, located on County Road 384 in the Springhill Community. Interment will follow at White Rock Cemetery, located on Hwy. 7 in Shelby County, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
