Jane Ann passed away peacefully at her home in Nacogdoches on June 1, 2026. Her life was marked by steadfast faith in God and deep love for her family, friends, and church. She enjoyed life to the fullest and taught all who knew her how to trust God through suffering and find Him wholly true.
Born on October 5, 1934, in Center, Texas, to the late James Roy and Bettie Sue (Tillman) Woodfin, Jane Ann grew up helping with the family dairy and country store. As a young teenager attending Patroon Baptist Church, she trusted Christ as her Savior and often said she "wanted to tell everyone about it." Her faith would remain the foundation of her life.
Jane Ann graduated as valedictorian of Shelby High School and went on to attend Stephen F. Austin State University. It was there, on campus one day, that she met the love of her life, Billy Ray "Bill" Kendrick. They were married on March 10, 1956, and soon began building a life together, welcoming three daughters into their family.
She will be remembered as a caring and inspirational Distributive Education teacher with Nacogdoches ISD. In her retirement years she enjoyed keeping busy while working at House of Traditions.
She a was faithful member of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church, an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society, and an avid bridge and 42 player. Jane Ann also loved to travel any chance she got.
More than any title or accomplishment, Jane Ann will be remembered for her faithful love and support, her fun-loving sense of humor, and her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She took great joy in supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, attending countless baseball, tennis, soccer, cheerleading, and other special events. Her presence in the stands and on the sidelines was a constant expression of her love.
Jane Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Kendrick; her firstborn daughter, Jana Kendrick Hughey; her brother, James Robert Woodfin; and her parents, James Roy and Bettie Sue Woodfin.
She is survived by her daughters, Karla Kendrick Anders and husband Ike of Lindale, Texas, and Karen Kendrick Harris and husband Brent of Nacogdoches, Texas; grandchildren, Isaac Anders and wife Andrea, Rachel Anders Bozeman, Jocelyn Harris Caraway and husband Eric, Allyson Harris, and Madison Harris Sundholm and husband Micah; great-grandchildren Presley, Annistyn, Hallie, Esteban, Emanuel, Ezequiel, Wyatt, Weston, and Warner; sister-in-law, Bobbie Sue Woodfin; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
The family extends special gratitude for the compassionate care provided by Heart to Heart Hospice, Enhabit Home Health, the Senior Adult Outreach Ministry of Fredonia Hill Baptist Church, and her devoted caregivers through the years. A heartfelt thank you is given to Winn, "her buddy," who faithfully loved and cared for her for nearly seven years.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the assurance that she is now in the presence of her Savior, whom she trusted faithfully throughout her life and found wholly true.
