

She was born September 9, 1930, in Nolan County, Texas to parents Jesse Clyde and Ora Estelle (Wicker) Montgomery. She was the youngest of six children.
Jessie was a graduate of Big Spring High School in Big Spring, Texas. At the age of nineteen she married the love of her life John William Daughtery. They were married for sixty-two years prior to John’s death in 2010.
Jessie was the loving mother of five children: Paula Jo Roark, Ronnie Dale Daughtery, Gary Dean Daughtery, John William Daughtery Jr. and Cannis Diane Ulbrich. She was a traditional homemaker, an excellent cook and seamstress. She cooked three meals a day and still enjoyed her gardening, quilting and cross stitching. She and John managed their poultry farm and cattle ranch at Pisgah after their retirement in 1983.
Jessie was MamMa to ten grandchildren: Kelly Jo Crump, Jessica Corley, Emilee Dale, Jarrod Daughtery, Craig Daughtery, Chris Daughtery, Katie Thomas, Hannah Rupley, Larissa Ulbrich and Ryan Daughtery and also, seven great grandchildren: Connor Crump, Avery Crump, Quinton Hood, Tanner Crump, Alissa Daughtery, Tristin Daughtery and Carter Thomas.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Nacogdoches with Bro. John Withem officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include Jarrod Daughtery, Ryan Daughtery, Eric Corley, Christopher Rupley, Richard Dale and Bernie Hodges.
Family and friends are invited to visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Shady Grove Baptist Church.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made in Mrs. Daughtery’s name to Shady Grove Baptist Church.
