

Hoyt was born July 31, 1931, in the Camp Worth community to parents Jim Willis Langston and Doris Chisum Langston. He was a 1951 graduate of Woden High School and then joined the U.S. Navy, serving as a “Tin Can Sailor” from 1951-1954 during the Korean Conflict.
He was a charter member of Woden Volunteer Fire Department and faithfully served as chief for 21 years, from 1977 to 1998. Hoyt was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing, and a proud member of the NRA.
Mr. Langston was a self-employed plumber for a number of years and later retired from Woden Independent School District as maintenance supervisor. He was a member of Woden Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary Elizabeth Langston, on Aug. 11, 1996.
His survivors include his daughters, Vickie Teas and husband Homer Teas of Woden and Bobbie Jean Langston and David Keen of Woden; son, Jimmie Hoyt Langston Jr. and wife Elesia of Woden; grandchildren, Wendy Hodge and husband Ben of Austin, April Caldwell and husband John of Beaumont, and David Teas, Jimmie Hoyt “Trey” Langston III, Luke Langston, and Dustin Beauchamp, all of Woden; and six great-grandchildren, Andrew Caldwell, Laura Caldwell, Joshua Caldwell, Kylie Langston, Riley Hodge, and Kindyl Beauchamp.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at Cason Monk-Metcalf’s Sunset Chapel, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches, with Rev. Reagan Sewell officiating. Interment will follow at Simpson Campground Cemetery in Woden.
Pallbearers will be Trey Langston, Luke Langston, David Teas, Dustin Beauchamp, David Keen, and Andrew Caldwell.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300,
Jacksonville, Florida 32256.
