

Johnny Scarlett Lesley, 78, of Nacogdoches, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born January 7, 1947 in Dallas, Texas to J.D. and Jessie Lee “Jackie” (Armstrong) Lesley.
Johnny retired from Temple Inland as a Supervisor in the Fiberboard Division. He then became a broiler grower for Tyson & maintained a thriving hay business. In addition, he operated Speedarama Raceway dirt track in Lufkin, Texas for a season. He had been involved with racing since a very young age, from go-carts to dune buggies, jet boats to mud buggies, & modifieds to stock cars, he loved to be on-the-go, with family in tow. He enjoyed sharing his love of racing with his children & grandchildren, always wanting racing weekends to be a family affair. When he wasn’t racing, he still had a “need for speed,” & took pleasure in driving around town showing off his collection of fast cars, maintaining a family/friendly, relationship with his favorite Dodge dealership, Mike Perry Motor Company. He was a praying, member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was known by many, having made a lasting impression on everyone he met, & will be missed by all who knew & loved him.
He is survived by his children, son, Jarrod Lesley and wife Jlyn & their children Kaitlyn Lesley Eberlan & husband Matthew, & great-grandchildren Presleigh, Levi, and Maddox Eberlan; Therron Thompson and wife Alyssa; Harleigh & Parker McKinney; son, Kelley Lesley & wife Hannah, & his children Jayden & Blade Lesley; & daughter, Jordyn Lesley Wadleigh & husband, Michael, & their sons Mykah, Owyn, & Logyn. He is also survived by a sister, Cindy Dunn; as well as, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews.
He is predeceased by his mother, Jackie Murray; sisters, Dianne Lesley Honea & Debra Lesley Banister; maternal grandparents, A.L. & Pearl Armstrong; and paternal grandparents, Sam & Nannie Lesley.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9th, 2025, in the Sunset Chapel at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Brewer officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Lower Chireno Cemetery, Chireno, Texas.
Pallbearers will be David Commander, Jody Goldsberry, Ef Serrano, Brian Batten, Gary Williams, & Mike Anthony.
