LaVerne Thruston

Mrs. LaVerne Thruston was born in Pt. Arthur, Texas, on October 11, 1921. She entered into rest on July 8, 2014 at Green Acres of Center. She was a retired homemaker. She lived with her husband, who precedes her in death, most of their lives in the Spring Hill community of Nacogdoches county.

She is survived by her children, daughter, Laura Sue Butler Rowe & husband Charles Rowe, of Center, son Martin Wallace Thruston & wife Isabel, of Santa Barbara, California, two grandchildren, Jason Butler & wife Helen, and Jennifer Butler Jones & husband Kevin, 5 great grandchildren, Brooke Butler, Tiffany Butler, Collin Jones, Ryan Jones, and Camille Jones. She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Brittian Allen Thruston.

Up until her move to the nursing home, they were both active church members and supported many projects, especially concerning the youth.

She will be missed by many who called her Mother, Mema, and Great-Gran. She showed love to all every day.

Services will be held at Cason Monk Funeral Home in Nacogdoches at 3 pm with visitation at 2 pm on Monday, July 14 with interment at Pilgrim Rest cemetery in Martinsville.Pallbearers will be Barham Rhodes, Larry Poe, Joe Bill Mettauer, Burton Brown, Kevin Jones, and Charles Rowe. Honorary pallbearers will be Claydron Balch and Rayford Green.
