

Funeral services for Lydia Marie Bass Matthews Dillon of Huntsville, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with Rev. Paul Sevar officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Appleby, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.
Ms. Dillon died February 29, 2016, at her residence in Huntsville, Texas.
Ms. Dillon was born January 20, 1928, in Appleby, Texas, and lived 87 years of her life in Nacogdoches County. Her parents were Ingram C. and Pearl Geldmeier Bass. She was retired from the Texas Department of Human Services after 31 years of service. Ms. Dillon was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the Joyful Sound Choir.
Survivors include her son, James Ray Matthews and wife Wanda of Huntsville, Texas; step-sons, Dennis Dillon and wife Debbie of Dallas, Texas, and Tommy Dillon and wife Alice of Nacogdoches, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; an aunt, Evelyn King of Nacogdoches, Texas, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, John Ray Dillon, in 1987.
