Lynda Faye Holt

A graduate of Chireno High School, Lynda received her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Child and Family Development from Angelina College before attend Stephen F. Austin State University. She was honored to be listed in the Who's Who publication for her high grades. She worked in the Old Candy Factory and was a seamstress at the Old Mize Building in Nacogdoches. She also served as a substitute teacher and other various roles in working with children.

Mrs. Holt was a talented seamstress who enjoyed quilting, poetry, and gardening. She loved her church and took great joy in making homemade gifts for others. She was proud of her college accomplishments and even won the Nacogdoches Treasure Hunt in the 1990s.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert C. Holt; and brother, Doyle Husband.

She is survived by her daughter, Raina Thompson and husband Glenn of Joaquin; son, Robert Oran Holt and wife Misty of Nacogdoches; siblings, Rose Smith of San Augustine and Charles Husband of San Augustine; and best friend, Ruby Grant of Nacogdoches. Mrs. Holt had a deep love for her grandchildren, of whom she was tremendously proud: Ryan Helms, Aaron Helms, Trista Halek, Rachel Halek, Kaylee Halek, and Sean Halek. She is additionally survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors. Funeral Services will be held at noon on Friday, May 23, 2025, at New Life Christian Fellowship officiated by Bro. Dale Morton. Interment will follow at Upper Chireno Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ryan Helms, Aaron Helms, Colton Harvey, Dwayne Husband, Robert Holt, and Glenn Thompson.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Panola Nursing and Rehab, HeartsWay Hospice, and Dr. S. Scott Boniol and staff of Christus Highland Cancer Center in Shreveport.
