Marilyn Ann Davis

Funeral services are set for 10:30 Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church, 201 E. Hospital St., Nacogdoches, with Dr. Jeff McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Mrs. Davis was born December 28, 1935, in Iowa to Ron and Marvel (Hicks) Crees.

Marilyn and C.W. “Chuck” Davis were married January 22, 1966, and moved to Nacogdoches in 1978, becoming an integral part of the community. She was a leading residential real estate agent for a number of years and was active in the Primetimers Club and Book Club.

An avid bridge player, she also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and sports. Marilyn was active with the First United Methodist Church and loved her Sunday School class. She had a great love for her family and had been a lifelong animal lover.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvel and Ron Crees; and her husband, C.W. “Chuck” Davis.

Her survivors include her children, Rick Davis and wife Linda of Dallas, Texas, Jaci White and husband Ben of Carrollton, Texas, and Jim and Tia Davis of Fort Mill, South Carolina; grandchildren, Jennifer, Blake, Ryan, Ashley, Zack, Jordan, Courtney, McKenzie, Christopher, and Haley; great-grandchildren, Lily, Aaron, and Gracie; brother, Jerry Crees; sister, Judy Crees; and an aunt, Charlotte Crees.

Pallbearers will be James Fuller, Alex Louis, Blake Davis, Ryan Davis, Zack Davis, and Chris Perkins.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, January, 18, 2016, at Cason Monk-Metcalf.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting memorial contributions to Sparrow Missions, www.sparrowmissions.com/give. Marilyn’s granddaughter lives in Honduras and runs a mission organization there that serves abandoned and underprivileged children.
