After a fruitful life in Nacogdoches as a successful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, Nancy passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Aug. 16, 2013.
One of eight children, she was born Nov. 19, 1935, to Rosa and J.J. Jinkins. In 1953 she married William “Bill” Gillispie Ross and settled in Nacogdoches to rear her family and successfully continue Jinkins Seed Store for more than 35 years.
Mrs. Nancy was a member of Nacogdoches Garden Club and the Pythian Sisters. With her garden by the house and a helping hand, Mrs. Nancy lived her life in a good and meaningful fashion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa and J.J. Jinkins; siblings, Henry, Medford, Pat, Lewis, Della, and Molly; and her loving husband, Bill Ross.
Her survivors include son, Joey Ross and wife Wendy and son Jake; son, Billy Ross and wife Pat; granddaughter, Tiffany Barrett and husband Raymond and their son Raymond Jr.; sister, Rose Ann Couch; and numerous other family members and friends.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Lexington Place, Memorial Hospital’s entire third floor staff and Chaplain Richard Harris, Dr. Baker, Dr. Wilson, and a host of family friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nacogdoches Treatment Center or a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, located at 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches. Online memories and condolences may be offered at www.CasonMonk-Metcalf.com.
