

She was born on October 23, 1938, to parents Albert and Ellon (Whitton) Pruitt in Nacogdoches County.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016, at Lone Star Cemetery on County Road 823 in Nacogdoches County with Bro. Richard Russell.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors.
Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ellon Pruitt; and brothers, Lee Pruitt and Elmer Pruitt.
She is survived by her only daughter, Katha Lock and husband Kenneth; granddaughter, Kourtney Morrison and husband C.J.; grandsons, Dustin Lock and Justin Lock; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Lock, Kyleigh Lock, and Charleigh Morrison; sister-in-law, Martha Pruitt; special friend, Ed Lewis; and many nieces and nephews.
Fay was a wonderful mother and friend. She was generous and caring to the people she loved. She worked for many years at Brookshire Brothers in Nacogdoches as a cashier and frozen food stocker. She was always a friendly face at the store.
Fay was a cattle girl from her earliest days. She began caring for cattle and wasn’t afraid of the hard work. She enjoyed it and was good at it. She also loved riding horses.
She loved taking care of her family and enjoyed especially making pecan pies, divinity, fruitcakes, and egg custard. Ora loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She also enjoyed the company of her special friend, Ed. She will be greatly missed.
