

Ms. Pamela “Pam” Wanamaker, age 68, passed away at Rock Haven Nursing Center on February 6, 2014. She was born on March 4, 1945 in Dallas Texas. Her parents Elizabeth and Joe Prince were lifelong Nacogdoches residents.
The Celebration of Life ceremony will take place at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches on March 27 at 1:00 pm in the Sunset Chapel. Rev. Patsy Barham will conduct the service.. Her family will honor a private inurnment at Sunset Memorial Park.
Pamela is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul Prince. She is survived by two children, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Ms. Wanamaker was a longtime resident of Nacogdoches. She was an elementary teacher for 10 years. Later, she made a career change and became the first female officer of the Tyler Police Department. During her life’s journey she also became the owner of her own polygraph business. Pam retired from her endeavors and enjoyed being a farmer and rancher in Nacogdoches.
The family would like to thank everyone at Rock Haven for their wonderful care of Pam. We also thank Heart to Heart Hospice of East Texas for their gentle care; Betty Simpson, who was a long time caregiver and was with her when we couldn't be; Marie Wingate, a long time caregiver and to Billy and Carol Willis for all they do.
