Visitation will be held on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Cason Monk Funeral Home in Nacogdoches from 5-7 pm with services held at First Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday December 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM with graveside service following at Sunset Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson was the youngest of three daughters born to J.L and Freda Beam on June 17, 1964 in Tyler, Texas. She grew up in Whitehouse, Texas and was a graduate of Whitehouse High School. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University and received her bachelors and master degrees. She married the love of her life Thomas Wilson. They resided in Nacogdoches, Texas, where they raised their two sons.
She will always be remembered as a loving mother, aunt, daughter, and friend, who had a passion for helping others. This was perhaps best conveyed through years of teaching her students at Kemp High School, Woden High School, and Nacogdoches Christian Academy. She was an advocate for the Neurofibromatosis Foundation, passionately supporting the cause as her son Kevin was diagnosed at an early age. She and Kevin launched a popular food blog, Kevin Wilson’s Home Cooked Cuisine where they share tips and delicious recipes. She cherished family and was dedicated servant to the Lord. She enjoyed helping others and loved her church family at the First Church of the Nazarene. She was so looking forward to being a grandmother in January to her son, Jace’s baby boy.
She lived out her faith humbly with kindness as she served her family, community, employers, and fellow man on a daily basis as instructed in the verse she lived her life by:
She is preceded in death by her father, J.L Beam. Survivors include her loving husband Thomas Wilson, son Kevin Wilson of Nacogdoches, son and daugher-in-law Jace and Desiree Wilson of Conroe, mother Freda Beam of Tyler, sister and brother-in-law Shirlene and Mark Goodwin of Tyler, sister and brother-in-law Regina and Mal Staples of Eket, Nigeria, nephew Jeffrey Staples and nieces Christina Staples and Kristin Goodwin, and many loyal and caring friends.
