Ron was born on June 29, 1946 in Palestine, Texas to Louie and Mary Thrash.
He graduated from Nacogdoches High School and Stephen F. Austin with a degree in clinical psychology. He worked many years for Evergreen Presbyterian Ministries as a clinical psychologist.
He was an avid wing shooter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed the outdoors and the hunting life as few others could. He was often heard to say that “even a bad day in the field was better than any day at the office.” Ron also had a green thumb and could usually be found pruning azaleas or tending to his wildflowers. Ron also cared for his Gordon and Irish setters. Ron and his father hunted every season from the time Ron was 8 years of age until 2009 when his father made his last dove hunt with him.
Ron is survived by his parents, Louie and Mary Thrash of Nacogdoches, Texas.
