

Rosalie was a dedicated educator with a lifelong passion for learning and teaching. She earned her undergraduate degree in Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and later completed her master's degree in education from Texas Woman’s University. Throughout her career, she taught mathematics and was deeply involved in academic and extracurricular programs, including One Act Play and UIL Number Sense, positively impacting countless students over many years.
She is survived by her daughters, Lara Hooper and her husband Josh Hooper, and their children Jacob and Lilyana Hooper; and Lisa Burkhalter and her husband Michael Burkhalter, and their children Travis Burkhalter, Allie Burkhalter, and Julianna Burkhalter.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, Lucius and Ella Hatfield, and by Lucius B. Hatfield.
Rosalie had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into celebrations. She loved planning parties and was known for hosting unforgettable gatherings filled with laughter, warmth, and good food. She approached life with an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling to new places. Shopping was an adventure of its own for her, and she was delighted in finding the perfect gifts for her loved ones. She also cherished time spent with friends playing bridge and 42, sharing music at the piano, and savoring one of life’s simple pleasures—a cold Coke.
She loved being active in the Center Garden Club and was one of the original members of the Annual Christmas Cookie Exchange in Center, Texas with all her sweet friends.
Rosalie will be remembered for her generosity, creativity, love of family, and the joy she brought to those around her.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, located at 5127 North St, Nacogdoches, TX 75965, on February 6, 2026, from 3:00 pm.
