Sandy is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Derinda; son, Chad Slone and wife, Erin of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Amy Hensarling and husband Bryan of Roanoke, TX; 5 grandchildren, Cole and Cody Slone, Molly, Kaden and Lexi Hensarling; brother, Tim Slone and wife Laurie of Temple Terrace, FL; sister, Shelia Bramante and husband Pete of Cleveland, OH; sister, Lana Novar of Conway, AR; brother, Hayes Slone of Charleston, SC; brother-in-law Sammy Tyler of Conway, AR; sister-in-law, Lynette Sams and husband Kevin of Conway, AR; and a great number of loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lizzie Slone of Cleveland, OH.
Sandy was a kind man with a gentle spirit and a pure heart. He was a longtime member and served as an Elder of the Stallings Drive Church of Christ in Nacogdoches, TX. He was a loving father and grandfather that enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s events and spending time with them any chance he could.
Sandy was born on June 30, 1950 in Jackhorn, KY. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY holding a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He worked all of his life serving in the Insurance industry but his main focus in life was serving the Lord and being devoted to loving all of his family.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2020, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2020, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel officiated by Tyler Sams. The funeral service will be livestreamed on Cason Monk-Metcalf's Facebook page for those who are unable to attend. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cole Slone, Cody Slone, Kaden Hensarling, Sam Tyler, Tyler Sams, and Caleb Churchill. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Goad, Scott Beasley, Clell Sparks, and Eddie Whitaker.
