

Sherry graduated from Conroe High School. She served her community at the Nacogdoches Chamber of Commerce for many years, and she was instrumental in developing the Nacogdoches Blueberry Festival yearly. She enjoyed reading, traveling, spending time at the beach, and spending time with her family. Sherry was a huge Elvis Presley fan.
Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Susan Carol Matlock and Thomas Orvin Matlock; and father, John Anthony Bird.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Banks; daughter, Stephanie Gullett and husband Ryan; son, Daniel Banks and wife Kaylee; grandchildren, Christopher Gullett, Adalee Banks, and Aubrielle Banks; brother, Thomas Bird and wife Becky; sisters, Kelly Votaw and Mindy Hodges; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Cason Monk-Metcalf officiated by Bro. Shane Scroggins. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas McGuire, Gary Collins, Doug Coats, Michael Coats, Preston Coats, and Jason Case.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association.
