

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2011 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Committal service will follow at 4:30 pm at the Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches.Patriot Guard Riders will be present. A Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, January 5, 2011 at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors at 10:00am with Rev. Steve Newton of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating.
Velta was an LVN and worked for the State of Texas. She served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. She was a proud member and supporter of the Girl Scouts, Order of Eastern Star, and the Lake Nacogdoches Volunteer Fire Department. There were many talents that Velta had including ceramics, leather tooling, and needlepoint just to name a few. In fact, once she put her mind to a task, she could complete it well. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her most.
Velta is preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Beatrice Lawlis, brothers-in-law, Hoy Moffett, Arlon Sharp, Delbert Biers, Joe Terry, John Tischhauser; and nephew, Bud Huddleston.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul A. Tischhauser; son, Paul H. Tischhauser, and partner, Patsy of Ohio; daughter, Debbie Tabb of Midland, Texas; grandchildren, Micki Tabb of Midland, Tony Tischhauser of Indiana, Tarah Tischhauser of Indiana; sisters, Betty Adams of Arlington, Texas, Bennie Moffett of San Antonio; Lucille Terry of Sweetwater, Texas; great grandchildren, Zen Tischhauser and Gianna Marie Littlejohn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Corbie Guthrie, Phil Sharp, Johnny Mayo, Chris Sharp, Dan Litten, and Bobby Bowlin.
