

Born September 5, 1934 in Haskins, Ohio, the son of Cleo J. and Mary (Minninger) Peters. On February 15, 1958, he married Carol M. Cole, who survives of Napoleon.
Herb was a truck driver for the Saneholtz Supply Co. of Napoleon and also was a custodian for the Napoleon City Schools, retiring in 2000. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Napoleon. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Surviving also is two sons Rex Peters, Napoleon, Ohio, Steven (Tammy) Peters, Archbold, Ohio; seven grandchildren; two sisters Lois (Frank) Fauver and Ilva (Junior) Bourn, both of Wauseon, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Deborah Smotherman, five brothers Glenn Dale, Earl, Richard, Kenneth and Larry Peters, four sisters Clarabell Peters, Valetta Peters, Maxine Richards and Marvella Morr.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church, 1004 Lagrange St., Napoleon, Ohio, Rev. Charles Alley, officiating. Entombment will be made in Riverview Memory Gardens Mausoleum, rural Defiance County, where military honors will be accorded by the joint veterans posts of Napoleon.
Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 333 West Main St., Napoleon, Ohio, on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the benevolence of the family.
