Verena G. Hall, age 96, was born February 11, 1917 in Henry County, Ohio. She was the oldest daughter of Dale and Ola Ward. She grew up on a farm with a sister, Arlene Eickmeier, McClure, Ohio, and two brothers, Doyle (Betty) Napoleon, Ohio and Merritte (deceased).
On February 23, 1934 she married Lyman R. Hall (deceased July 27, 1988). They had four children: Kenneth (Jackie) Cookville, TN, Carl (Roaslie, deceased), Napoleon, Ohio, Wendell (deceased) and Sally (David) Askins, Pharr, TX.
Verena worked as a secretary for a carpenter and then for the Henry County Agricultural Stabilization Conservation until retiring in 1974. She was a former member of Sharon United Methodist Church, Napoleon, OH, where she was treasurer and Sunday school teacher. Later a member of the Pharr United Methodist Church in Pharr, TX. She also volunteered many years at the Pharr Food Pantry.
She is survived by her three children, 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Sharon United Methodist Church, Harrison Township, Rev. Lindy Maurice-Saum, officiating. Interment will be made in Hoy Cemetery, Harrison Township.
Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Ohio on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
