He was born in Ramones, Mexico to Pedro Garza Garza and Melquiades Rodriguez Mendez on February 19, 1938. He grew up as a farmworker and retired as a foreman for the Kendal corporation.
Alvaro is survived by his wife, Lucia DeLuna Garza, his siblings, Christina Gonzalez, Israel Garza, Bea Martinez, Mina (Ralph) Iori, his 4 daughters Lety (Steve) Garza, Melly (Tony) Rodriguez, Cesy Jones and Janie (Eric) Sheets, grandchildren Nikki (Brian) Lloyd, Steven (Christel) Sanchez, Sal Sanchez, Jasmine (Xaii) Santana, Augie (Laura) Martinez, Jose (Alicia) Martinez, Annie (Cody) Bacom, Marc Rodriguez, Christina (Armando) Hoo, Steven Hoo, Ariel (Case) Wilson, Isaac (Alexa) Sheets, Lu Sheets along with 13 Great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Melquiades and his sister, Ignacia Espinosa.
A visitation for Alvaro will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A burial will occur Friday, February 21, 2025 at 10:30 AM.
