Dear Benny, Angie and Long,

We are sorry to hear that your dad had recently passed away.    
We were stationed together in San Juan Puerto Rico way back in the early seventies.  We had lost contact but we will never forget the kindness and friendship your parents showed us.  We were  blessed and fortunate to have Paz and Ben as caring friends when we lived a few houses apart in Fort Buchanan.  We ate at your house, cooked, watched TV, played with you guys, attended parties and went on sight seeing tours in your teal/blue Impala.  We  had memorable memories of watching Angie danced, Benny running around with his friends from school and Romulo (Long) staying with us while your mom worked at the BX on base.  
We regret that we did not pursue connecting with your family in this amount of time.  We want you to know that we have good memories of your beautiful and loving family.  They were our role models as we navigated our life.   
May you find comfort in knowing that there were many people that your Mom and Dad had touched, through their generous hearts, made a difference in others and gave us the examples of how to raise a good family.  We will always cherish the memories we shared  together in Puerto Rico.

Our dearest Uncle Ben,

We had a lifetime of memories with you and the rest of the family. Every time we think of you we think about Papa George.
You were the best of friends and now will be in heaven together along with Auntie Paz . You and Auntie left your beautiful family behind to carry on your memories.

Mr. Colmenar  ......definitely had a  sense of humor! I remember back in our 1980’s days  whether it was coming over to pick up Romulo to go out to a concert , a party or coming by and dropping each other off from college , Mr. Colmenar would be outside working on one of the Camaros . He would always have funny nicknames for whatever girls we might’ve been after or dating!!   We are lucky to have had parents  that gave us the freedom and choices to what we wanted ( as long as we got a degree of some sort) 😂.  

Mr. Colmenar, one of the most pleasant of people and parents. And to support and put up with our (Romulo and band) rock and roll years, takes a special parent, Lol.  Through your children and their families, it’s truly a privilege to continue being in the presence of your legacy!

I knew Colmenar from Krome’s cafeteria. He was a very nice, respectful person. Above all he was very funny.  I never saw him angry. He was always happy. He talked a lot of the cocks  fights he went to when he lived in Puerto Rico. May he rest in eternal peace 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😇😇😇
