

MSGT DeWitt Clinton “Bill” Morris Jr., USAF, ret. age 99, a long-time resident of Homestead, FL, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the evening of September 14,, 2022, at his residence with his loving family by his side.
Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved the Lord, his wife, and his family deeply.
Bill served his Country honorably and nobly during World War II in the United States Army Air Corps as a B-17 and B-29 Flight Engineer. He also served as a Flight Engineer on C-130’s in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Throughout his career Bill completed over 2000 combat flying hours and over 8500 flying hours. His personal awards include the Air Medal (5 Awards), Air Force Commendation Medal (2 awards), WWII Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal WWII, American Campaign Medal, National Defense, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
After Retirement from the Air Force, Bill worked as a mail carrier for the USPS, in Akron, Ohio. One day as he was delivering mail in a snowstorm a stranger approached him and asked him this question. Do you know the Lord, Jesus Christ as your savior? The stranger presented the gospel, and then God did the rest. They both bowed in the snow that day and Bill received Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized the following Sunday. Luckily, he only had to deliver mail through the Ohio blizzards for a few years until he relocated to Homestead, Florida in 1981.
After retirement Bill enjoyed work as an auto body mechanic, flipping and selling classic cars. He volunteered his time assisting veterans at Homestead AFB. He also served as a unit Chaplain at the Homestead VFW for a few years. The highlight of retirement was spent building and enjoying his vacation home in Thailand and traveling around the country visiting his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife Sripen Morris, his daughter DeeAnn (Ryan) Gunnells, his sons Mark (Anali) Morris and Matthew Morris and 5 grandchildren, Easton Gunnells, Lucille Morris, Evan Gunnells, Elliott Gunnells and Luke Morris.
A visitation for Dewitt will be held Monday, September 19, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn, 27100 OLD DIXIE HWY, NARANJA, FL 33032, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Military honors will be held 2pm at the graveside.
