I'm sorry to hear of her passing. I lost touch when I had moved out of Miami. I first met her when she was learning ASL and then watch her journey as an interpreter at Rockway Middle School. She had a big heart and really did care about her kids. 

Tina and Ralph are our neighbors and we have lived next to each other for over 20 years. Tina was always helpful whenever we needed something, like a Notary stamp. We loved to chat with her and her "spunk" always made those conversations stimulating. She was one to speak her mind freely and openly about her life and her teaching. Being a teacher myself we had a lot in common and I gleaned much wisdom and passion from our talks.
Tina will be greatly missed, and even now as I write this and think about her I get a pain in my heart and a lump in my throat.
I pray that Tina finds all her eternal needs in the loving embrace of our Lord Jesus Christ, "the Way, the Truth and the Life". My wife, Arelis, and I will always be here for Ralph and assist him in any way possible, as he makes this difficult transition.

Oh Madre. I don’t even know what to say. I barely can find the words. You are missed by so many people. We have been sharing stories all day about you; things dad remembers, Susie telling some of her fondest memories, me telling things that stood out from our childhood. After hearing all the stories, Susie and I were floored by how many of your qualities we inherited from you. You always talked about Nature vs Nuture and after retelling so many stories today, boy were we a perfect example! Some of our best qualities have come from you. You were stubborn, headstrong, loyal, never judged, always saw the glass as half full instead of half empty, you constantly reminded me that “It could always be worse”, you were there no matter the time of day, and you were fearless!! You were bad to the bone! I miss you and will continue to until we meet again. Rest easy now, you put up one hell of a fight!! Love you Madre. Love, Jenny 

Tina always had a special place in my heart. She cared. Really cared. Tina cared about life and made it her mission to ensure those around her lived it to the fullest and did not miss the value of the life they were blessed with. I loved the way she took an interest in my young children and their care. I loved the way she took care of my buddy Ralph, and I loved the way they loved each other. I cannot be prouder to have known such a warm and caring person. Tina will be missed dearly, and I am glad to have shared even the smallest part of my life with her.

Hi Honey, and I mean “Honey” as in Honey Badger. You Sure earned the reputation of being tough and being able to take on the world. I know you are also a romantic and you loved like you did everything, with a fierce determination and total commitment. While we had sort of co-dependent lives, we also had independent lives. You could send me to the computer room to play a game so you could watch Judge Judy as fast as we could snuggle up for a movie together. I remember when we met, I knew you were to be extremely important in my life and you thought I was an Angel in human form. I don’t think it took more than a few weeks to realize who we really were and committed to being together, forever. I can honestly say we shared the same puppy love we had from the first days until the last. It was in your face, your eyes and always on your lips. We talked endless about each other and even now you live in every cell of my being. I know we were destined to be apart at some point but I also know we will always be together as one. I hope I did a good job of showing you that every moment we had, as you did in every gleam and smile. 

My Mom - to sum her up - Tough as Nails. She never took iish from anyone and never let us take it either. She was fierce and unwavering, never accepting what that pesky “can’t “ word was all about. She’d tell us, ”There is no can’t, only won’t, And yes you WILL.” She was the walking definition of pick yourself up and keep it moving.

 I owe so much of myself to her. She was my strength when I thought I was out for the count. She was my coach, cheerleader, and water boy. 

She never allowed pity to enter her mind, and that made her a force to be reckoned with in life, and as a teacher. 

You’ve made some fierce friends and family Mom.

The dictionary says that the root of the word courage is cor – the Latin word for heart. ... Courage originally meant "To speak one's mind by telling all one's heart." My Little Sister Haydee was the perfect definition of this word. My sister was the most courageous person I have even known. The words I can’t were not a part of her vocabulary. She overcame so many obstacles in her life despite her physical restraints. In fact, she loved a challenge, and believe me, she had so many. As I go through all the beautiful words that so many have written about her, my heart fills with pride, she touched so many lives including mine. Although I never said it enough to her, I was always very proud of her and bragged about her accomplishments to my friends. Our family will never be the same without her. My eternal love is with you Little Sister

(5) I told you “You can be proud of the life you have lived, you planted seeds for many people and you are a ferocious wife, mother, and God Mother. You are not this broken body in this bed, you are my life mate, my Tinaternity and we will sail those oceans of fire together. Ask for help to leave this suffering behind and I will already be there waiting for you.”
We are created in his image true, and in this plane, we are his only fallen children. But we are children meant to live inside the oceans of fire, to be citizens of a timeless realm so far beyond our comprehension it is impossible for our minds to fathom it. But in a moment of clarity, I was given the key. One day I will get to see what it unlocks and I believe my life mate will be waiting there to greet me as I was waiting to greet her when those organic filters fell away and the ocean rushed in.
I love you wife, always have and always will. You truly inspire me.


(4) You put down your life, said your goodbyes, and things spiraled down very quickly.
You had no food or water or medications for about fifteen days, and had been reaching upwards, asking to “take me up, take me up”, calling for your mom and my dad. But suddenly your eyes flew open wide and you stared across the room and quietly said “I wish you could see what I am seeing. I wish you could see what I am seeing, give me your hand”.  I went to hold your hand but you turned my hand palm up and slowly tapped out a sequence with your fingers. I knew it wasn’t sign language or Morse code. “This is the answer, they key” you said. When I said I didn’t understand, you turned me around and repeated it on my back. 
In a flash it was over, you laid back with half lidded eyes again lifting your arms quietly pleading “lift me up, lift me up”.  I went back to that place in the swing. You were speaking to me and had already pushed past the organic filters that blinded my eyes and my brain couldn’t speak that language you tapped out with your fingertips. Maybe you were looking through the walls and buildings and seeing into that vast ocean of fire, so close to tearing free of the shackles of your broken body that all the spectrums of light were becoming visible, maybe sound had a feel and the world was spreading out from two dimensions into countless planes. Maybe shapes were there like fireflies, the names you were calling.
I can’t fathom God with this mind, and Tinaternity was already slipping outside the confines of this existence, time was ticking by  but she was stuck here with me, her anchor that helped her win so many battles and yet tethered her to a moment in time. I knew exactly why you were so important to me so many years ago and why we were destined to be together. 

(3) There was something miraculous about you and I thought of fireflies and dry thunder, your eyes danced with a bright light and your smile was quick and easy.
So, I told you I had a feeling you were special, and I didn’t know why. I talked for countless hours and listened even more. When we were apart, I wrote you endless passages of sailing the sea of light together in the night sky, conquering the giants we faced in our lives, and how you were becoming so much a part of my world. 
Slowly we came together and married. You were my Tinaternity, that soul mate I spoke to as a young child, the one that wasn’t born yet at the time, but we are created in his image, and in a timeless realm so you might have already passed on. It didn’t matter, we were meant to be together for eternity, I was sure.
We learned of your blood cancer only after the first heart attack and the subsequent stroke. You lost one love of your life, interpreting for the deaf, but we grew even closer together. You found a new love in helping others and you studied for many long years to become a teacher, graduating from FIU second in your class for ESE.  Turns out you were truly gifted at it and had an infinity to helping people. For me it was easy, all I had to do was give you the freedom to be you and people’s lives changed. Something I could never do alone. So, we conquered this cancer it seemed, you were my warrior princess, a cat with nine lives.
After many years of hardship and strife, your body started to fail.  Even though you had proven again and again you were exceptionally strong willed and could heal really fast, and I was always at your side, the advocate to shield and protect you, your anchor and source of healing energy, we ended up in hospice. The sixth heart attack was inoperable and your systems were rapidly failing, the clots were not just attacking your heart, they were in your entire vascular system.  

(2) It occurred to me if I was created in God’s image, there was a spirit inside this organic prison, something that would be native to that ocean of energy but bound here in natures timeline, shackled to the earth to learn what secrets it must hold before once again being freed to return to the light. So, everyone I will ever know, will at some point be a part of that light, maybe some conditions would deny that light, but those of us that are good of heart would partake of the endless feast.
This is where I met you, rocking back and forth in that swing sometimes eating an apple turnover for dessert, or watching fireflies undulate in clouds, hearing the rumble of dry lightning, but in those endless moments it came to me almost like a quiet whisper that my future wife would be with me some day. We would be together for a time in this physical realm and then move on to sail that brilliant ocean of fire in the celestial bowl above.
But we are created in his image, so she might not be able to reply to these organic ears, just like you would expect to hear God more in those silences between your thoughts rather than as if one of the nearby bushes were to burst into flame and tell me to set my people go. So, I talked to you, the one with no name, my wife and life mate. I talked endlessly of sailing the sea of light together in the night sky, conquering the giants we faced in our lives and great things we would do as a couple.
I did learn your name one day. It was Tina, and after listening to you describe Dolphins and why you loved them so much it almost sounded like Bubba Gump, it just seems like a feeling inside was waking up, a little burning nagging feeling you were very important to me in a way I couldn’t explain. I realized you were alien to where we were and you needed someone to sit with you under the stars and listen to you and revel in you. 

(1) Wife, you asked me to write you another story for Christmas. I was too caught up in the moment at the time to give you the gift you so desired, but I am free to write now. So here it is, and I hope you can experience it as I am. 

When I was a young boy, I was whisked about early on Sunday mornings, adorned in my shiny slacks and starched shirt, slipping on my meticulously crafted Florshiem wingtips polished to the point of seeing my tussled hair reflected in the inky depths, and as a family, we plodded our way through long lines of similarly dressed throngs to the high steepled Methodist church.
The sermons usually ended up with some joke about breaking early for the golf course, or beating the Baptist to the local restaurant, but the content of the lecture sometimes really piqued my imagination about God and heaven, the sinful nature of people, and that Satan was cast down from the heavenly host to walk among us.
So, God is everywhere, unshackled from time, the alpha and the omega and so alien to the human mind that we can’t begin to fathom one that speaks into existence everything we know, and apparently a lot more our feeble minds will never begin to grasp. But WE are created in his image. WE are different from the other heavenly host; WE are his only fallen children.
I gave this a lot of thought, sitting in the swing set under the stars. Slowly rocking back and forth, the fire that blazed above was a sea of light. I knew the galaxy was tightly packed with stars in the center and that must be where God and the heavenly host resided, because if Satan has sat at God’s side, he must have had immense power, perhaps the kind that needed all those suns packed so tight it was an ocean of energy, something that would not reach way out here on the spiral arm with us, the fallen children. It kind of made sense that there was a lot going on up there in the stars.

watched 
Ralph's tender care of her many physical needs over the years. you couldn't help but notice their deep love for one another. It started before their Wedding Day until she departed to her heavenly home. Together they were remarkable
overcomers.

I’ll remember how much Tina and Ralph loved each other and the affection they showed one another. You don’t see that kind of devotion very often and it blessed our family. Aunt Carole




The moment I met her I Loved her instantly her energy was so amazing! The way she taught her class and loved her students and gave her all to each one of them including her parents.

A million little memories of trips up and down in the elevator, classroom vents only teacher-neighbors understand. Science stools the perfect height for a perch and a chat. 10 years ago I never thought I would’ve found this amazing person who would even understand my silence. You were always there in the happiest and most difficult times of my life. Thank you for all those amazing moments we spent together that made us laugh, cry and even mad. Thank you for always telling me how proud your were of all the things I would do when all I thought of myself is that I was a failure. I’ll take and keep all those memories I had by your side and one day I will tell my children their madrina was the person anyone would’ve want to have in their life.

Ms. Reese was seriously the most charismatic person ever. It’s sad to know she’s not here with us anymore but all we can do is remember her as the wonderful person she was. Ms.Reese practically saw me grow up. She was anyone and everyone’s absolutely favorite teacher. There wasn’t a time we walked passed each other where she didn’t acknowledge me. She lit up hallways and made such a huge impact on the energy of the students at school. She was always smiling ear-to-ear and that’s exactly how I will remember her. It can almost still hear her laugh all these years later.  No matter how upset i was, or how busy she seemed, Ms. Reese always made time for her students troubles. My condolences to to her close family and friends, we lost a good woman. Till we meet again xx. 

Tina was one of the first people  I met when we moved to Homestead. She actually  inspired me to become a teacher. Years later I got the opportunity to work with her and see first hand what an amazing teacher she was! It was an honor to work alongside her. I hope she knew how much I looked up to her. My wonderful friend, you will be very missed. 

I remember when I first hired her, she told me her disabilities wouldn’t hold her back from anything she had to do, and  boy was she right. She was amazing with her students and extremely loved by all. She was understanding, patient and always had a positive outlook. She touched my heart, along with so many others with her kindness and love. May she rest in peace.  

It unbelievable and hard to imagine the world without your physical presence.

Ms.Reese will be forever the best teacher she made a impact in my life and still is Ms.Reese always showed me the right way when I was going the wrong way Ms.Reese showed me more then life I’m forever grateful ,KIYAN singleton ms.Reese forever in my heart 

Reese treated her students like my best friend and I like family as well helped us as much as she could. She gave us advice and guidance on things academically and out of school. Even if she was in pain she made sure her best to come and teach a class. I hurts to hear she’s gone but at least she can’t feel pain and I’m sure she’ll watch all of us grow to be successful. 

Ms.Reese as I would call her, was such a great teacher to me throughout my highschool years, she made such a big impact on my life, and was always taking care of me and making sure that I am okay. I struggled with math a lot, and she is one of the reasons why I graduated highschool, she always asked me what do you want to be when you get out of highschool, I always told her I wanted to work with children, just like she did, and she told me I can achieve anything I put my mind to, and I did now I work for the county, with children and adults that have disabilities, and all because of her I achieved it, ms.Reese was a very special person to me, she was always trying to take care of other people, I miss her dearly, but I know she’s watching me from above, she also talked about her family a lot, she was always telling me that she loves her daughters and husband, and that they are the world to her. We all lost a good person this year, and sending prayers to the family🙏🏼❤️
