Jose A. “Guy” Fernandez, Jr., passed away on Thursday, September 16th, 2021, in Naples, Florida, surrounded by his wife and children. He was the husband of Marbella Servin. They shared 39 beautiful years together.
Born on May 29th, 1960, in Kendall, Florida, he was the son of Jose A. Fernandez and Blanca Flor Santana. He graduated from South Dade High School in 1978. He loved driving through his beautiful home state of Florida, growing things, fixing things, and solving problems. Fittingly, he was a truck driver, a farmer, a carpenter, a mechanic, and an entrepreneur. His son, who always worked by his side, lovingly called him Mr. Fix It.
He enjoyed working, fishing, going to the beach, snorkeling, barbecuing, and playing cards and chess with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed traveling and creating memorable experiences with his children. The most valuable things he gave his children were his values and beliefs: strong faith in God, high self-efficacy, a fierce work ethic, a willingness to help others, and an appreciation of nature, history, and knowledge. He will be remembered as an honest, hardworking man of faith who began everything with a prayer for God’s blessing and ended everything with a prayer of thanksgiving.
He is survived by his wife, Marbella; his children, Ruby, Gizelle (Joseph Michael), Marin Richard, and Arlett Monica (Sergio Enrique); his grandchildren, Joshua Guy and Sophia Blanca; and his dog, Mikey; who all love him dearly.
The viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021, at 5:00 PM at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 27100 Old Dixie Hwy, Naranja, FL 33032.
