Nancy Leandra Gonzalez was born on March 13th, 1934, in Camaguey, Cuba. She passed away peacefully at her home of over 50 years with loved ones by her side on June 11, 2025. She was 91 years old. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Gonzalez and stepdaughter Kim Gonzalez. She is survived by her children Charles Gonzalez (Denise), Annette Chapel (Dale), stepsons Fred (Amy) and Tony Gonzalez, niece Elsa Kramer, and 7 grandchildren, Lindsey, Charles Luis (Sophia), Zachary (Alyssa), Matthew, Alyson, Trevor, and Tyler.
Her infectious smile and the loving and peaceful manner in which she treated everyone she encountered will be deeply missed. She was the patriarch of the family and her strong faith and commitment to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, was an example to all around her. Her passion for serving from a young age grew throughout her life. From being a PTA Mom at school, to serving in her local church, to the making of her friendship bread that she shared with so many, Nancy was a faithful and loving servant, always helping others. She was also an amazing cook and every Sunday after church would have her entire family over for meals that will always be remembered as special occasions. The Cuban dishes were out of this world!
Nancy was a simple woman who loved her family deeply and found joy in their lives. Never missing anything the grandchildren were involved in she showed us all the true meaning of family. She will be deeply missed but her love, compassion, and legacy will never be forgotten.
A celebration of life will be held this Saturday June 14th at 10:00 am at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn 27100 Old Dixie Highway, Homestead, FL 33032. Immediately following the graveside service, there will be a reception at Redlands Community Church 14601 S.W. 248 St. Homestead, FL 33032.
