Ramona Felicia Valdez

Ramona Felicia Valdez nació el 2 de mayo de 1938 en Burende, La Vega. Fue la querida hija mayor de Gavino y Julia Valdez, y la mayor de siete hermanos. Desde muy joven, Ramona se convirtió en el pilar de su familia, demostrando fortaleza, resiliencia y una dedicación inquebrantable.

Sus primeros años estuvieron marcados por el trabajo duro en los campos y un espíritu compasivo que la llevó a convertirse en enfermera, siempre lista para ayudar a quienes lo necesitaban. Frecuentemente compartía historias de sus días trabajando en el hospital y su orgullo por haber sido reconocida como la mejor ciclista entre sus colegas.

De joven, Ramona enfrentó la pérdida de su primer esposo, pero continuó perseverando, criando a sus dos hijas, Chago y Argentina, con amor y fortaleza. Su vida fue un testimonio de sacrificio y dedicación.

Más tarde, conoció y se casó con nuestro padre, Ramón Bienvenido, quien también era viudo con dos hijos pequeños, Wilfred y Teresa. En 1969, emprendieron el viaje a la ciudad de Nueva York, trabajando incansablemente para establecer una nueva vida. Su objetivo compartido era reunir a sus familias, y con perseverancia y amor, lograron unirlas, formando una familia combinada con el nacimiento de Evielisa y Karina. Ambos, cada uno con siete hermanos, trabajaron para unir a sus familias en una sola.

Nuestra madre fue el alma más bondadosa como una Catolica presente. Su esposo solía decir que ella no se daba a sí misma porque simplemente no podía—siempre dispuesta a tender una mano, alimentar a quienes necesitaban alimento y vestir a quienes requerían ayuda. Dedicó su vida a su familia y a ayudar a los demás, encarnando la bondad y la generosidad.

Trágicamente, Ramón, su gran amor, falleció a los 41 años, pero su compasión nunca se desvaneció. Continuó sirviendo a la familia y a su comunidad catholica, dejando una huella dondequiera que iba. Disfrutaba de bendecir a todos en su camino y de ser el bien al projimo. Regalaba a quien conocia y a quin no el rosario para que en cualquir momento tuvieran esa cercania con Dios. En sus últimos años, enfrentó pérdidas profundas, y su sonrisa brillante y espíritu alegre se fueron apagando, pero encontró alegría y pertenencia renovadas en su tiempo en Las Mercedes Adult Care, donde estuvo rodeada de amor y cuidado hasta su último día.

Su legado de cuidado, entrega y ayuda a quienes lo necesitan vivirá por siempre a través de sus hijos, yernos y yernas , 15 nietos ,21 bisnietos, y de todos los que la conocieron.

In Loving Memory of Ramona Felicia Valdez

Ramona Felicia Valdez was born on May 2, 1938, in Burende, La Vega. She was the beloved eldest daughter of Gavino and Julia Valdez, and the oldest of seven siblings. From a young age, Ramona became the pillar of her family, demonstrating strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication.

Her early years were marked by hard work in the fields and a compassionate spirit that led her to become a nurse, always ready to help those in need. She often shared stories of her days working in the hospital and her pride in being recognized as the best cyclist among her colleagues.

In her youth, Ramona faced the loss of her first husband, but she continued to persevere, raising her two daughters, Chago and Argentina, with love and strength. Her life was a testament to sacrifice and dedication.

Later, she met and married our father, Ramón Bienvenido, who was also a widower with two young children, Wilfred and Teresa. In 1969, they embarked on the journey to New York City, working tirelessly to build a new life. Their shared goal was to reunite their families, and with perseverance and love, they achieved this, forming a blended family with the birth of Evielisa and Karina. Each of them, with seven siblings, worked to unite their families into one.

Our mother was the kindest soul, a devout Catholic. Her husband used to say she didn't give herself fully because she simply couldn't—she was always willing to lend a hand, feed those in need, and dress those who required help. She dedicated her life to her family and to helping others, embodying kindness and generosity.

Tragically, Ramón, her great love, passed away at the age of 41, but her compassion never faded. She continued to serve her family and her Catholic community, leaving a mark wherever she went. She enjoyed blessing everyone she encountered and being a blessing to her neighbor. She would give rosaries to those she knew and even to those she didn't, so that they could always feel close to God. In her later years, she faced profound losses, and her bright smile and joyful spirit gradually faded, but she found renewed joy and belonging during her time at Las Mercedes Adult Care, where she was surrounded by love and care until her last day.

Her legacy of caring, giving, and helping those in need will live on forever through her children, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and all who knew her.

May she rest in peace, reunited with Dad, forever and ever.
