Ruth Leconte St. Vil
December 4, 1973 – February 3, 2026
Ruth Leconte St. Vil was a loving mother, devoted wife, daughter, grandmother, and friend whose kindness touched everyone who knew her. Born on December 4, 1973, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Ruth was raised with strong values, deep faith, and a gentle spirit that would define her life. She was the only surviving child born to her beloved mother, Physelia Leconte, and father, Evoy Joseph.
She completed her primary education at Centre Anne Marie Javouer in Haiti and began and completed her secondary studies at Lycée des Jeunes Filles in Port-au-Prince. From an early age, Ruth demonstrated dedication, discipline, and quiet determination.
On December 31, 1995, she married the love of her life, Leonce St. Vil. Together they built a life rooted in faith, commitment, and family.
In 2001, Ruth migrated to South Florida, where she resided and greatly contributed to her community until her final days. She pursued higher education at Miami Dade College, earning her Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She was preparing to sit for her NCLEX examination prior to her critical illness, a testament to her perseverance and desire to serve others through healing and compassion.
Ruth was a proud and devoted mother to her three children: Ruthonce, Jason, and Rachelle and a loving stepmother to her stepson, Javon. She was a joyful grandmother to her beloved granddaughter, Rhianne, and was eagerly anticipating the birth of her grandson, Gideon — a blessing she carried with great excitement and love. Beyond her immediate family, Ruth opened her heart and home to help and foster multiple children with special needs. She viewed this as a calling from God and offered them patience, advocacy, and unconditional love. She embraced each child as her own, providing a safe and nurturing space where they could grow, feel valued, and experience love, dignity and stability.
Ruth loved the Lord deeply and cherished her church community. Music was one of her greatest gifts. Her beautiful voice echoed through churches across Haiti and the United States, using her God-given talent to touch countless souls. Though her departure feels heavy to us, we can only imagine her beautiful voice now echoing in the heavenly realms.
Those who knew Ruth describe her as a gentle and beautiful soul. She was easygoing, humble, and loved by so many. She possessed a rare ability to adapt to everyone around her, making each person feel valued and understood. She knew when to speak and when to remain silent. She moved with grace. She carried strength quietly.
She was a great mother and daughter — loving, nurturing, and selfless. Her presence brought comfort. Her smile brought peace.
Her favorite sayings reflect the encouragement she constantly poured into others:
“Be Strong.”
“You can do it.”
“Stay positive, be happy.”
These were not just words — they were the way she lived.
Her life and memories will forever be celebrated among her family, friends, church community, and coworkers. Though she is no longer with us physically, her faith, her voice, her love, and her strength remain alive in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Her legacy is one of humility, perseverance, devotion, and unconditional love.
